Happy Back to School!!

While summer is officially over, the sun is still shining and the weather is warm.  We are excited to welcome the children back to school this week.  Below is an outline of the first week back.  Teachers are working in grade groups to assist us in getting to know students, complete some initial assessments and refamiliarize them with the routines of school.  We will be striving to move students into their permanent classes as quickly as possible.  Part of the process is ensuring we have an accurate count of our enrollment so that classes can be configured.  Families have moved in and out of our catchment over the summer and we need to account for them.  If your child will be absent during the first week, please ensure you phone the office to notify us.

Tuesday 8:51 – 10:21

Returning students go to last year’s classroom.  The teacher may not be the same but that is where they will report to have attendance taken.

New students will meet in the library and then will be placed with students of their grade.

French Immersion students go directly to their classes.

Kindergarten students DO NOT attend.  Parents have been notified separately of their schedule.

Dismissal is at 10:21

Wednesday 8:51 – 2:45

Students go to their temporary homeroom for attendance. This will be there homeroom for the next few days.  They will enter, exit, keep their backpacks and eat lunch in their homeroom.  Students will work in learning groups throughout the day with a number of teachers.

Recess snacks and lunches will be needed as it is a full day.  We will have an assembly at 1:30.
